A prominent media organisation dedicated to delivering high-quality journalism that informs and inspires is looking for a Head of Growth who will spearhead their expansion of new and existing revenue streams.

Tasks include:
Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a bold growth strategy across membership, marketing, and grant funding.
- Serve on the Executive Team to shape overall organisational strategy, culture, and sustainability.
- Lead communications for both internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on progress and future plans.
- Conduct quarterly training sessions to enhance the skills of existing managers.
- Hold weekly meetings with Growth Team leaders to focus on acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Foster a positive, entrepreneurial culture to drive team performance.
- Represent our client at conferences, events, and high-level meetings.
Audience & Membership Growth:
- Set strategic priorities across the full funnel—from newsletter growth to membership acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Utilise behavioural science insights to enhance conversion and loyalty authentically and impactfully.
- Oversee impact communications for members, subscribers, partners, and grant funders.
- Collaborate with journalists to craft and review acquisition and marketing copy.
Partnerships & New Revenue Streams:
- Forge high-impact partnerships with grant funders, high-net-worth individuals, and sponsors.
- Secure funding for local journalism expansion projects.
- Develop proposals balancing commercial, editorial, and public interest goals.
- Manage reporting to grant funders and donors.
- Identify and incubate new products and revenue opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, business administration, or communications.
- Significant experience in a senior leadership role, particularly in growth-focused positions.
- Background in start-ups or management consulting, with a focus on growth strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Financial Acumen: Oversee budgets and reporting for various revenue streams.
- In-depth understanding of revenue streams, particularly in the membership/subscription economy.
- Leadership & Communication: Lead the executive team, manage communications, and foster an innovative culture.
- Strategic Planning: Execute growth strategies across audience, membership, marketing, and partnerships.
